THE IMPORTANCE OF IELTS (updated, 2022)

The International English Language Testing System is used to test your abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking.The Academic test is taken when the candidate desires to pursue higher studies, and for the purpose of immigration, the General Training is utilized. There is a difference in the Academic and General Training. Listening and Speaking are the same for both tests, but the subject matter of the Reading and Writing sections differs depending on which test you take.

In the IELTS there are no marks, instead the performance is identified by the band scores an individual receives. The marking system is from 0-9 which also provides half band scores. The purpose of the exam is to test the ability of the non native English speaker . The modules of Reading and Listening are objective in the test pattern while the writing and speaking modules are subjective.

While writing the essay, for both General and Academic, it must have a logical flow with appropriate topic-related vocabulary. In the Task 1 for academic, candidates must have the technique of reporting precisely what is provided in the graph/map/pie charts etc. To ace both the Listening and Speaking modules improve your art of keen listening. Once you understand the question and follow the line of conversation, you will be in a position to score better. Preparation for this test will only enhance your language skills.
